I was looking at some very old naive art dolls and I was struck by how dramatic they are. It's amazing what can be done
with some scraps of cloth, twigs, wood and feathers. Nothing was wasted. By contrast, we're very wasteful, although most
of us try not to be these days. Anyway, I took the same idea and applied it to my 'scrap' tray. Anything that
I'd been regarding as a leftover was fair game. Of course, I've cheated a bit. I've used acrylic paint on
them, and some new beads. But the basic idea is there: no wastage.
Her 'obe' (the sash around her waist), is pure wool. At the back is a 'bow', at the front is a frosted green rose button.
